Catholic Life

The School as a Catholic Community

As a Catholic community, we believe parents are the first educators of their children. We also believe we share the role of educating children in terms of their faith with parents, and so we strive to inform and involve parents as much as we can. We aim to support parents in understanding how they can help to develop their child's faith. Parents are welcomed to assemblies, Masses and other liturgies throughout the year.

The Wider Community

As a Catholic community, we believe we should teach our children the importance of helping, supporting and caring for others who are less fortunate than ourselves. Our community supports a range of different charities throughout the liturgical year, and we teach the children the importance of this. We aim for our child to become responsible members of our inclusive Catholic community who are able to make positive contributions to society. Examples of ways we support others include:

  • Support for local foodbanks and our local SVP through our Harvest collections
  • Chosen Advent charities,
  • Lent fundraiser for CAFOD

Prayer and Worship

As a Catholic school, prayer and worship lie at the heart of our daily life and routines. Our daily worship and liturgies provide an opportunity for children to develop socially, morally and spiritually. Our children engage in a range of worship forms including celebration, singing, formal, informal and shared. Our children are familiar with the language, silence and stillness of worship. Prayer and worship are shared experiences which are led by staff and children to a high quality.
